If they met face to face, though, Asami and Lust wouldn't like each other very much. As a whole, Asami Sato is a very forward-thinking person on many levels.

She is ready to learn from the past, but by no means is she stuck in it. She has moved on from her mother's death at the hands of a firebender, and she loves technology, too.

Asami also has some wonderfully progressive ideas on relationships with women namely with Korra , and she consistently pushes Future Industries into, well, the future. Asami knows that the future belongs to those who reach out for it, and she won't let the past weigh her down one bit. How exactly does Asami resemble prince Zuko of the Fire Nation from the original series?

Their personalities and origins are very different, but their character arcs have some startling parallels. To begin with, Asami has an antagonistic relationship with her powerful father, Hiroshi. If that weren't enough, Asami eventually "overthrew" her father and assumed his position. They also ended up joining various avatar teams, and they declared their fathers as the worst ever.

Overall, there is very little overlap between the animated Avatar universe and the widely panned The Last Airbender live-action feature, but Asami does represent a link with that movie. Her voice actress, Seychelle Gabriel, played Princess Yue. This might be the only connection between the two versions of the franchise, and it also means that Seychelle Gabriel is the only cast member to have a role in both the animated franchise and the live-action movie.

Most fans will probably agree that they'd prefer Asami over the live-action Yue for Seychelle's roles. In the heat of battle, Asami is a quick and decisive thinker, which is an asset. Otherwise, though, she is actually rather patient and tends to think ahead. She doesn't have the hotheaded nature that her Fire Nation ancestry would suggest. Asami isn't the type to take reckless risks unless absolutely necessary, and at the start of Book Two: Spirits, she casually explains that in good time, Future Industries will be back on top.

Asami was able to stun Sheng in revenge for her brainwashing plot, while Kuvira was able to force Guan into surrender. Following the incident, her other friends and allies were freed of brainwashing, and the democratic transition was readjusted to account for appropriate time to deal with the issues within the nation.

After returning to Republic City, Asami witnessed Kuvira enter a new guilty plea at her trial , and stated that even though it would take her a long time to forgive her for her part in her father's death, she was glad that Kuvira had been there to help.

A playful side to her, Asami happily ruffled Bolin 's hair when he helped her seal a deal with Varrick. Asami is a sweet and caring young woman, yet she is also independent and capable of fending for herself in tough situations.

Even though she is quite used to luxury due to her wealthy background, she does not think of herself as "daddy's little girl", despite what some may think, [1] and maintains a humble and modest demeanor, using her wealth and abilities to help others. Asami has also developed a tough side and is unafraid to stand up for what she believes in. Asami's high morality and judgment prevented her from developing any prejudice against benders in general, despite the murder of her mother at the hands of a bender.

She was able to choose the moral high ground above the only family ties she still had left, her father, showcasing her strong character.

Despite her kind and considerate demeanor, Asami is fully capable of standing up to those who have wronged her. Asami's strong character is showcased best in the face of hardships and, although hurt and offended, Asami showed no spite toward Korra, even when she was trying to steal her boyfriend.

Her caring nature was still prevalent, even after her break up with Mako, as she wished him well before he embarked on a dangerous mission. In contrast to her usual caring and sympathetic nature, she could muster no sympathy or forgiveness toward her father for years, desiring to hurt him as much as he had hurt her. However, after receiving a heartfelt apology and noticing how much he was suffering from his own guilt, she was willing to at least try to give him another chance.

Asami jumped over her attacker while electrifying them. Asami is highly proficient in hand-to-hand combat.

From a young age, her father enrolled her in the best self-defense classes there were, so she would be able to protect herself. Her prowess was great enough to easily disarm the Equalists' Lieutenant and knock him out with his own weapon, [1] and she was similarly able to evade attacks from five chi blockers before using an electrified glove to stun them.

As an expert driver, Asami often served as Team Avatar 's chauffeur. Asami is an expert driver, having learned through testing her father's Satomobiles, and is fully capable of rivaling Equalist motorcyclists.

She can also drive motorboats and sand-sailers, skillfully being able to escape and divert enemies during speed chases. As such, she has developed an keen eye on technology workmanship, being able to discern high-quality products from subpar ones, as evidenced when she criticized Cabbage Corp's airships for utilizing lighter materials. Asami is a practical thinker and a capable engineer, able to repair and construct vehicles with limited resources, such as when she improvised a makeshift sand-sailer using materials from a destroyed airship.

Although it takes some time for Asami to realize what her father has done, she ultimately makes the right decision. Hiroshi was making technology for the Equalists. This included large mecha machines designed to combat the most powerful benders in the Avatar franchise. Once Asami sees the evidence with her own eyes, she understands that her father is wrong.

At that point, she wastes no time in joining Korra and the rest of Team Avatar. She does not feel guilty about her father going to prison. Asami is the heiress to Future Industries and has never gone a day in her life where she has not had the benefits of wealth. She often uses this to her advantage, even if it is in poor taste. When Asami hits Mako with her moped, her immediate reaction is to buy him dinner and a new wardrobe.

Asami throws money at everything before she has a chance to get to know the people in question. Asami can at times use her wealth too quickly or without cause. But as the series progresses, she understands how and when to use it. She puts her strength behind Future Industries to make sure that the company is making good decisions.
