Can you scrap a water heater
Second, I did a number of these awhile ago and found it easier just to remove any outside worthwhile components brass fittings come to mind and take the rest in to the yard. I do recommend that you cut into one and break it down completely just for the experience, but i think you will find it to be a major pain and the insulation is not fun to deal with. Pulling, scraping, etc of the insulation is the only way I can think of but just not worth it IMO. Thanks Thanked 1, Times in Posts.

Low value but very heavy. Thanks 2, Thanked 2, Times in 1, Posts. Are these Copper cylinders or Steel hot water cylinders? Gas or electric. These are a big storage tank of water that is kept at a certain temp.
Newer ones are tankless, or commonly called hot water on demand. A lot of people still use the tank style because of price. They said I have to have a scrappers license to dismantle water heaters and appliances. How can I make any money scrapping if they wont let me take off the good stuff? My father in law is a HVAC guy and I can get lots of furnaces and other metals for free but it seems like I wont really be able to scrap all parts so i will have lots of waste that I will have to take to the dump.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated! Thank you! I suggest you subscribe to my RSS feed, or join the forum to discuss any questions you have.
